North Toronto Dental Centre has been in operation for over 23 years. Dr. Andrew Penuvchev founded NTDC in 2001 with the purchase of his own dental practice, and the amalgamation of Dr. Don Stephenson's practice, his mentor and family Dentist. In 2007, the practice officially became incorporated under the North Toronto Dental Centre name and has since expanded with the merging of two neighbouring practices with NTDC. We have recently moved locations to a larger and newly renovated space designed to provide our patients with the best and current oral health care. We welcome the staff and professional dentists, Dr. Shabotynsky and Dr. Nicola, from Avenue Lawrence Dental who have merged with NTDC.
NTDC has served many generations of local families and we look forward to continue serving the community's dental needs!

Dr. Shabotynsky and his staff welcome the new opportunities and benefits that will come from the merging of his practice and Dr. Penuvchev’s practice at our modern expanded facility on Avenue Road. We are all looking forward to working together and providing the best dental care for our patients.
Dr. William Nicola
Dr. William Nicola, originally from Ottawa, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto. He then went on to complete a residency at the Hospital for Sick Children, with a focus on providing comprehensive and emergency dental care for the pediatric population. He is currently in the process of specializing to obtain his degree in pediatric dentistry at the University of Toronto which includes training at several sites including the Hospital for Sick Children, Mount Sinai Hospital and Toronto Public Health Clinics. He is also an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Nicola first started working as a lifeguard and swim instructor when he was a teenager, and thoroughly enjoyed teaching kids of all ages. This passion for working with children has further developed throughout his dental career. Often times, kids dread going to see their dentist, which can have a long-term negative impact on their health. For this reason, his priority is to make sure that every child has a positive experience at the dentist and leaves with a smile on their face!
Dr. Nicola has recently married the love of his life, Dr. Natascha Lacroix. In their free time, they enjoy playing soccer, swimming and travelling the world together.
